MyNewYork
Whenever in Manhattan, I always carry a spare camera and films with me and try to capture the essence and mood of MyNewYork. With the rich and famous at the Nobu (105 Hudson Street) or at the Cipriani, with students at Greenwich Village or with an assistant and a model in a cab, bumper against bumber. Shooting on location at the St-Regis, at the Pier59 Studio or running at Calumet to rent stuff. I took hundreds of pictures and I am still looking for MyNewYork.
The image of New York is my Swiss brain, shapped by songs, by paintings (especially by Mark Rothko), by fellow photographers (Joel Meyerowitz...), by the movies (Scorsese / Taxi Driver...) by MTV and so on. But the main question was and still is : how to photograph MyNewYork.
To begin with, a first essai : Up 5th, down Madison. An afternoon walking. Enjoy.
